Why I created Companies of Compassion
About Claire
For many years I have worked closely with individuals navigating grief and loss.
Through this work, one truth has become very clear: Grief does not stay outside the workplace.
People carry their experiences of loss into meetings, into projects, into everyday conversations with colleagues. Yet many workplaces still feel uncertain about how to respond.
Leaders often want to help but worry about saying the wrong thing.
Teams care deeply about one another but may not know how to offer support.
Companies of Compassion was created to help organisations navigate this reality with compassion, clarity, and confidence.
I believe workplaces can become powerful spaces of understanding and humanity when people feel safe to acknowledge the realities of life.
My PhilosophyI am a grief expert, facilitator, and the founder of Grief Conversations with Claire.
My work centres on helping people and organisations develop a healthier relationship with grief and loss.
Through workshops, facilitated discussions, and organisational programmes, I help leaders and teams build the confidence to approach difficult conversations with care and empathy.
Over the years I have supported individuals, communities, and organisations in exploring grief with honesty and compassion.
Companies of Compassion brings this work into workplaces, helping organisations create cultures where people feel supported through life’s most challenging moments.
Grief is a universal human experience.
It cannot be rushed, fixed, or solved. But it can be acknowledged, supported, and held with care.
When leaders create space for compassion, they build cultures where people feel safe, valued, and connected.
Supporting grief in the workplace is not about having all the answers.
It is about creating environments where people feel able to bring their humanity to work.
“I’m so grateful for the beautiful space you have created for us ”
